I just got home from the Revolve tour in Philadelphia. On Saturday afternoon, I had the opportunity to meet with the coolest group of girls. Talk about world-changers, these girls are AMAZING. Moved by a desire to stand up and make their lives count, they have set a goal to raise $100,000 for Project Rescue, an organization that fights against human trafficking. Instead of giving in to the pressures of the culture around them, these young teenage girls are spending their time, energy and resources on things that matter. I’m calling them my Revolve All-Stars! This is what it’s all about. Everyday people, changing the world. You only have one life to live.
What will you do to make it matter?
I love Mercy Ministries. I love Nancy Alcorn. I love who they are, what they’re about and Who they represent. If you are not familiar with Mercy Ministries, let me introduce you. Just a little over 25 years ago, Nancy Alcorn opened the doors of their first mercy home in Louisiana. They now have locations in Louisiana, Tennessee, Missouri and around the world. They offer hope and healing to desperate young women who are seeking freedom from life-controlling problems such as: eating disorders, depression, self-harm, physical and sexual abuse, and unplanned pregnancy. Their Bible-based program is free-of-charge and Mercy Ministries has now served over 2000 girls.
As many of you know, I am a former bulimic. My heart is especially drawn to the work of Mercy Ministries because of their desire to help girls who struggle with little to know self-esteem. Their educated and qualified staff does this through helping the girls see themselves through the eyes of Christ. I come in contact with girls every weekend at the Revolve Tour who are cutters or have an eating disorder. I have also met several girls who have come through the program at Mercy Ministries and their lives have been changed. I have seen the light in their eyes as they tell me about the freedom they are now experiencing.
I thank God for Nancy Alcorn. She has made great sacrifices, choosing to remain single and forego having a family in order to be married to this ministry. But because of this, she has had a part in seeing God transform thousands of lives. It couldn’t have been easy, but I am grateful for Nancy Alcorn. And I am so grateful for the work of Mercy Ministries.

hi peeps,
many of you know that i have been on the revolve tour. we have a weekend off from the tour and i’m back with women of faith this weekend. but i thought i would still bring you some ‘all access’ footage, revolve style. i love the team of people i am touring with. we have so much fun, on and off stage. max lucado was even out with us for a weekend, to show some support and love for his daughter, jenna, one of our awesome revolve speakers. but maybe he should be the 4th member of group 1 crew? he’s got mad skills
enjoy!
lots o love,
nat
Okay – here’s a quick photo of my new hair. Shorter in back, longer in front. Oh yeah, I’m hip.
Sorry, I know it’s kinda hard to see in this pic. The iPhone doesn’t take as good of pics as the advertisements say.
I’ve had good hair moments and oh-so many bad ones. Yep, went through the phase of shaved on one side, long on the other. No, you cannot see a picture.:-)
Then, I had a bad breakup with a dumb boy and cut all my hair off in a pixie cut. What was I thinking? And then I can’t even talk about the time my sister permed my hair. Yep, it was that bad.
So, what is your worst hair moment?
Okay, so I am proving to myself that I can be quite resourceful. I was at a festival, getting ready in the back of my bus, and I realized I had no iron. But have no fear, I always have many useful things in my bags of tricks! Who knew a hair straightening iron could come in so handy
So tell me, what’s the most resourceful you’ve ever been? Have any good tricks to pass along?
cheers,
natalie
Okay, so this little video could melt the coldest heart. If this doesn’t make you smile, you might want to check for a pulse. My daughter, Gracie, loves music. And she can shake it with the best of them. She also loves food and in this clip she combines her love for both! This will give you a glimpse into the joy she brings me on a daily basis.
Kiss those you love today.
Enjoy,
Natalie
Okay, so I played the Iowa State Fair last week with Michael W Smith. While I’ve worked with him several times before, I SO do not see myself as a colleague, as i am still a fan.
i mean, as a very young girl, “project” was one of the first albums my parents bought me. of-course, “the big picture” was a regular in my household, and “go west young man” was a staple in my car. so, needless to say, my palms still get a little sweaty when i’m around him. okay, not really, but he is SO cool.
I showed up uninvited at the front door of his bus. i wanted to see if i could get “in”. watch the video to see what happens. i think this one is pretty hilarious. thanks to my sweet friend, tiff, for putting it together and of-course, including the soundtrack for it. it makes perfect sense, since smitty and i are now friends forever.(*wink*)
you’ll get it after you watch it.
hugs,
natalie
So, what do you do on the road when you’ve got some down time? if you hang out with us, you may watch a scary movie on the bus or……play games! yep, we’re a bunch of old people. we love to sit around and play cards. actually, i have always loved games. Some of my favorites are: Life, Uno, Sorry, gin rummy, hearts, yahtzee, monopoly….i could go on and on! here is a clip of us playing “i doubt it”. the card game has been known by a few other names, none that i will mention here however. (*wink*) anyway, use caution when watching. the action is RIVETING.
what are some of your favorites? and i don’t mean guitar hero. kick it old school style and tell me your favorite card or board game.
cheers.
natalie
