Gospel Music Channel Produces Special One-Hour Presentation of Official Music Video for Kirk Franklin’s “Are You Listening: A Love Song for Haiti”

Join GMC as Viewers Around the World Gather for This Historic Music Television Event Friday, Jan. 22 at 7 PM ET. GMC will encore the special on Saturday, Jan. 23 at 6 PM ET.

The response has been overwhelming for what Kirk Franklin has dubbed the gospel community’s answer to “We Are the World,” a song and music video titled “Are You Listening: A Love Song for Haiti,” with all proceeds to benefit those impacted by the earthquake. Watch the official music video.

The gospel community swiftly responded to a plea from their friend and peer, with more than 150 participants joining the cause, including Yolanda Adams, Jeremy Camp, Shirley Caesar, Dorinda Clark Cole, Natalie Grant, Fred Hammond, Tamela & David Mann, Mary Mary, Donnie McClurkin, Bishop Paul S. Morton, J. Moss, Smokie Norful, Marvin Sapp, Karen Clark Sheard, Kiera “KiKi” Sheard, BeBe Winans, CeCe Winans and Marvin Winans along with other gospel artists featured in the choir including Shari Addison, Kathy Taylor Brown, John Gray, Bishop Darryl Hines, Stephen Hurd, Karima Kibble, Judith McAllister, Nicole C. Mullen, Jessica Reedy, The Neville Sisters, Troy Sneed, Micah Stampley, Melinda Watts and Brian
Courtney Wilson.

Franklin contacted Don Jackson, executive producer of The Stellar Awards, to request that GMC capture the historic recording event. The official music video world premieres in a special presentation on GMC Friday, Jan. 22 at 7 PM ET, immediately before GMC’s airing of the telethon “Hope For Haiti Now: A Global Benefit For Earthquake Relief” at 8 PM.

GMC’s one-hour special, hosted by Lisa Kimmey-Winans, will feature exclusive interview footage with Kirk Franklin from the recording session interspersed throughout multiple runs of the music video. GMC will encore the special on Saturday, Jan. 23 at 6 PM ET. The music video will then go into heavy rotation in all GMC music video blocks. GMC will also produce and premiere an exclusive “A Love Song for Haiti: The Making of ‘Are You Listening’” behind-the-scenes special in February.

    Our church prior to the Earthquake supported the Baptist Haiti Missions, since the quake our Presiding Elder Dr. Jonas has encouraged us ad a body to give beyond our present support of the mission.

    never heard of you, but one of my x wives died a week after her daughter did
    and she was a daughter we had and gave away, and before she died, she
    got to meet her real and ma and pa. she was only 37. and so, i notified
    legal friends of both deceased and uh, suddenly i was at cvs pharmacy
    and saw out of the corner of my eye, wow a collection of christian hymns, 30
    of them and bought it for 8 dollars plus, and fairest lord jesus was on it
    by natalie grant, a favorite song of mine we sang as kids at the first
    baptist church of van nuys, ca in sunday school. and i got natalie confused
    with amy grant and thought she was the singer of ‘this is my father’s world’
    which i playing repeatedly this st. valentine’s week, until st. valentine’s
    day in a mourning memorial for both ma and daughter gone ??? where? maybe
    nowhere. they were both famous movie stars, in all genres, artists, musicians
    writers and spies and much more. we owe both an extraordinary debt of
    gratitude, for those two who must remain anonymous, went above and beyond
    the call of even extraordinary duty. you young folk, have done just as much
    as they. thx so much. without you all, none of us would have ever been here.

    one of my prayers has always been “Lord bless me and make me a blessing to others”. i can truly say this song,”is there anybody listening”, a love song to haiti has been a tremendous blessing.every time i hear it, it puts me there with my brothers and sisters in haiti.yes i hear and yes i feel there pain.i would love to have a copy of this song so i can play it over and over.many blessings to kirk franklin and the 150 participants,many of whom i have been blessed by their annointed songs. please let me know how i can get this song:Are You Listening”A Love Song To Haiti.
