It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

the-grinch

Hi everyone!
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving. We did. Great food and even better fellowship. It was an awesome day.

But now I’m in Houston. The Casting Crowns Christmas Celebration begins tonight. It doesn’t feel like it’s time for Christmas. Does it to you? All I know is that it’s time to pull out Harry Connick, Jr.’s cd, my Christmas Crooners cd with Perry Como (my fav) & Jim Carrey in The Grinch, which happens to be my FAVORITE Christmas movie. I also love It’s A Wonderful Life.

What’s your favorite Christmas music and Christmas movie?
Hope to see you guys on the road.
Ho, Ho, Ho

Hey Natalie! Hope you have fun on your Christmas tour!
It doesn’t feel like it’s time for Christmas yet, to me either. But I’m putting up the Christmas Tree today, anyway. Maybe that will help :)

My favourite Christmas music? Your Christmas CD!! I love it. Also Celine’s, she’s my other favourite.
Christmas movies, my favourite is probably Elf.

This year is going to be a hard Christmas for me and my family. My dad died three months ago, so things aren’t going to feel right this year…at least for me (but I’m sure for the rest of the family as well).

My favourite Christmas movie is Miracle on 34th Street – the original…but then I also love the animated Rudolph, various Santa ones, and Frosty – the movies from the 60s I think…maybe late 50s (not exactly sure when they came out).

My favourite Christmas song is O Holy Night. I don’t really have a favourite Christmas CD though.

  • Bethany

My favorite Christmas songs are from Amy Grant, Natalie Grant : ), and Carrie Underwood (the special edition of Carnival Ride at Wal-Mart has a bonus disk with Christmas songs). And I just bought the song “Ring the Bells.” I really like the way Travis Cottrel sounds with you.

My favorite Christmas movies are: It’s A Wonderful Life, How the Grinch Stole Christmas (the cartoon one), the Charlie Brown Christmas movie, and all of those old cartoons…Frosty the Snowman, Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer, etc.

Right now Josh Grobans CD Noel is playing. All christmas music is beautiful. Brings you into the real reason for the season, not just the gift part. Your music is also very beautiful, and I wish I had your CD but unfortunatly I don’t. I did watch you on Gospel Music Channel last night. You did a fabulous job!
Thank you, and have a fun and safe tour! Stay strong for him!

  • JoLynne

Well, I may only be 19 but I’m still an old fashioned girl. I really like all of the really old Christmas cartoons that they play Christmas Eve. And, I gotta say that Burl Ives is the voice I think of when it comes to Christas music! :)

  • Theresa Asire

    Hi Natalie

I love the song “One Child” and would like to sing this for Christmas this year. I am unable to find an accompaniment track. Are they any available? Thank you.

  • Tabby Lynn

it is hard to believe that it is Christmas time already. It just went by so fast this year. I love Christmas, i did not really have a fav Christmas song till this year well the end of this month. We are teaching the kids in childrens church 3 songs and they are Behold that star, Go tell it on a mountain, and Noel. So those are my fav songs now, they are great, the kids are doing well the the 3 of us who are teaching them to sing are managing well. Just pray that the children do not chicken out, today we had a little trouble with one being shy and she is playing Mary, so pray for them to be brave and strong in the Lord.

My fav. movie is the Grinch, i dont really like elf, but it is okay. i love Christmas shoes and movies with love in them and stuff like that. oh and all the “old” movies. God bless have fun on your trip i love Casting Crowns and you also. be safe have fun.

    Tabby

I have to say Believe is my favorite Christmas CD. I love all of the usual Christmas songs as well; The First Noel, Silent Night, Joy to the World, etc.
Christmas movies: Hmmmm, I can’t think of any Christmas movies I really like watching. I’m going to have to think about this!
    ~Noelle!

My favorite Christmas CD is Behold the Lamb of God from Andrew Peterson. If you haven’t heard it, get it now and listen now. I’ll wait… My favorite Christmas movie is It’s A Wonderful Life. I can’t think of any other movie that I watch once a year without fail.

  • Tabby Lynn

Wow, my favorite Christmas music? Silent Night, Joy to the World, lots of other hymns and songs. My favorite movie would have to be some of those old animated movies. I like the Polar Express alot too.

  • Rhonda

I was at the Christmas Celebration last night and was blown away by Natalie’s talent. A song was sung by her that she said she wrote and I was completely moved by it. I need to know the name of that song. She sang it right before she sang Oh Holy Night.

    Can anyone help me?

  • stephanie

    Rhonda,
The song she sung was “I believe” which is off her Christmas CD titled the same name… Hope this helps you..

  • Rhonda

    Stephanie,

    Thank you so much!!

  • Rhonda

Okay – I should have asked this the first time. Can someone give me the names of all the songs Natalie sings at the Christmas Celebration?

  • Ashley

My favorite Christmas song would have to be “Mary Did You Know.” Mary has always fascinated me because of her willingness to take on such a huge…thing and never question God at all. My favorite Christmas movie would have to be “The Nativity Story.” Duh! :) That’s the reason we have Christmas!

  • Mandy

    oh, yeah! i’m shopping and,
    decorating, and all the good
stuff! i’m getting excited! i love
    this time of year!

  • http://www.nataliegrant.weebly.com Karleigh

My favorite… hmmm. Well, I don’t really have a favorite cd, but more like alot of different songs. I absolutely love your song One Child. It’s my absolute favorite Christmas song. And as for my favorite movie… Christmas Shoes. Christmas is going to be hard this year, the first chrismas without my grandma… Hard. But it will be okay. I hope your Christmas is amazing. I am still praying for Bella by the way. Being sick is never fun. I pray that the rest of you guys don’t get sick either.

Love you and all you do! :-)

    – Karleigh
    P.S.- I love the new website layout…

  • Hannah

After recovering from hardware removal the day before thanksgiving (yes hardware removal–I had screws removed form my head from a previous brain surgery =) ) I finally got to watch all the Christmas music specials from the GMC including the Casting Crowns Christmas Special that I DVRd while recovering! AMAZING!

NOW it feels like Christmas. In a small town in the desert we can’t count on snow and decorated stores and sleigh bells and parades to make it feel like Christmas. We have to make our homes sound and smell like Christmas with music that praises the Savior and food that smells like winter. So picking a favorite Christmas song is not possible. My son will watch Frosty the Snowman 25 times this holiday if I let I suppose. Outside, well we leave that up to God! =)

  • Loren K.K.

Oh I just love the Grinch! I love the lesson it teaches us. We are going to have a GREAT Christmas. This year I suddenly felt bad for Jesus that he was born in a rusty barn. Sigh……..
He is the kindest person I’ve ever heard of. Can’t you agree with me Natalie? Love your song “In Better Hands” I like the music video. Ha Ha.

Well…. besides your christmas music, I LOVE Andy Williams and Bing Crosby. Also, I have this 50′s christmas cd with classics, such as Rosemary Clooney’s “Here comes Suzy Snowflake,” and the song, “Santa Baby.” Always feels like christmas when I put that on. Oh yeah, and what is Christmas without Kenny G. My favorie christmas movie is White Christmas. But our family’s tradition is to watch all our favorites, It’s a Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th Street, The Grinch (both versions), A Christmas Story, and Family Man. Did I say I LOVE Christmas. I just heard about casting crowns new cd and I can’t wait to get it. We are doing an advent book with our kids this christmas and that would be should wonderful worship music for our devotionals. Merry Christmas!
