@JLee1611 congrats!!!

Haircut

Okay – here’s a quick photo of my new hair. Shorter in back, longer in front. Oh yeah, I’m hip. ;-)

Sorry, I know it’s kinda hard to see in this pic. The iPhone doesn’t take as good of pics as the advertisements say.

I’ve had good hair moments and oh-so many bad ones. Yep, went through the phase of shaved on one side, long on the other. No, you cannot see a picture.:-)

Then, I had a bad breakup with a dumb boy and cut all my hair off in a pixie cut. What was I thinking? And then I can’t even talk about the time my sister permed my hair. Yep, it was that bad.

So, what is your worst hair moment?

  • ♥Cassie

YAAAAAAAY i love love love love love the hair cut! it is super cute.. i tend to have many many bad hair days lol i have curly hair… and its the kind of curly hair that when someone sees it they tell you oh man i want your hair… well it stinks becuase i can never grow it out long it gets to icky on the ends so that makes me sad… but some days my hair is very frizzy and it stinks really really band and hairspray does not do the trick…. but i still love my hair.. and i dont straighten it anymore i have learned to love what god has given me! thank you so much for the update

I hope god is inspiring your life

Have an amazing Day week and month!

Your new “do” looks great! Wish I could get my hair looking good…can’t seem to do anything with it – ever!

My worst ever hair experience was back in the mid ’90s. The hairdresser thought I would look great in a spiral perm (the in thing at the time) so I thought I’d give it a shot. Well, it didn’t work out at all. A couple of years later when I was getting something else done, a different hairdresser at the same place was looking through my file and saw that I’d had the spiral perm. She was amazed the other girl would give me one since I have fine (and very straight) hair. Spiral perms do not work with fine hair. I ended up looking like a cross between Bozo the clown (minus the red hair) and a poodle! Seriously! It wasn’t until it started growing out many months later that it actually looked ok, but then only part of my hair was curled at that point. Anyway, no more spiral perms for me!

Man, I would have to say my worst hair was either when I let my ex-boyfriend’s mom give me a cut. I think I ended up with a mullet. Then there’s my hair now. I was trying to cut my hair short with my husband’s clippers. Yeah…… Not good. Luckily, I have a cute ball cap until it grows out.

    Hugs,
    Melinda

Awesome hair, Natalie! Really loving the new style!

I definitely think my worst hair moment was when I cut my bangs by myself when I was younger! Let’s just say they weren’t very even. ;)

  • Lindsey

I absoutly love the new hair cut is really cute!! well i have had some intresting hair time i have primed my hairs cause my hair is ooo straight !! but yeah that was intresting cause it really curley and not reallly short but no t really long either so ya! then when it was in the procees of coming out it was not really pretty then either!

  • Jacqui

Your hair is cute!!! Very pretty.

Hmm…my worst hair moment was probably when I got it permed, too. My hair is very long and quite thick, and it just…I looked like I had a poodle on my head or something! Ahh it was bad.

  • Gerra

Your hair, looks just fine ;) .

My worst hair moment : Hm…after band performances, lol.

  • Hannah

i saw your hair at revolve! it is so cute!
you did an amazing job this weekend…thank you!

    i love you nat.

  • http://www.thetolsonhouse.blogspot.com Sarah Tolson

Super cute!! New haircuts are so fun when they make you feel good. :)

Umm.. there was the time when my mom permed just my bangs, and left the rest of my hair straight.. I don’t know what I was thinking.

Then there was the time I asked for the “Rachel” and got the “Uncle Bob Mullet” instead. That haircut actually earned me some pretty hurtful comments. But I am over it… no really.. I am! :)

Thanks for sharing your pics! I love getting a little glimpse into your life.

  • http://wearethehofs.blogspot.com LisaH

Wow my worst hair moment? I’d have to say when I was about 19…..I cut my hair in a pretty short bob. I was planning on perming it as well. BUT when I cut it first I forgot to take in to account that when you perm your hair it shrinks up!!! Needless to say I looked like a poodle with a bob for quite some time =)

The blessing about hair? It ALWAYS grows back!!!

    PS your hair looks great!!!

  • Tina

Nat, I LOVE the hair. its beautiful. =)
i have had some really bad hair moments. like when i was about 5 i decided to cut my hair myself…didnt look to great!! or the time i had my hair down to about my butt, i was growing it out to donate it. i went over to a friends house, and her mom used to cut hair for a living so i decided my hair needed a trim. so i told her 3 inches max. when she finished and i looked in the mirror my hair was up to my shoulders!!!! AAAHHH. i cried for a really long time. that was terrible. and from that experience i have become very emotional about my hair and very attached. (but i am growing it out to donate it again) my hair is about 6 inches from my butt now, and its curlyish. i very much dislike it!!
i love you, and your great new haircut!!!
    Tina

  • Desi Boo

I love your hair i had a look just like that 4 weeks ago..

Then i got it cut and that was the start of my bad hair week ={ I go my layers cut so short they would stand up if i did not stratian them with my iron but there was one problem my iron was suckish so my layers were almost standing on end. but now i have a iron that works great and my hair lays flat WOO HOO!!!! :p Luckyly i was able to hide my horable hair and now i find my bad hair week kinda funny and i am never going to let it happen like that again. lol

  • Lindsay

I was in the fifth grade and decided that it would be a good idea to cut my hair shot- it didn’t grow back to it’s full length until my freshman year in high school! It was definetly the WORST hair decision of my life.

I love the new haircut! You’re a very sylish mommy :)

  • Hollen

OOH! It’s cute!!! :) Umm…well, perms never stuck for me…but I don’t really have a really bad hair story…yet. :) But right now my hair is NOT in a style…it just kind of hangs there and I put it up…but it is too wavy (not in a pretty way) to wear down. It is kind of in between curl and wave..LOL It comes to about my shoulders and I want to get it cut! :) Love ya Natalie! COME TO ARIZONA sometime!

I got a spiral perm once. My hair was down to my rear end. It burned my hair so bad I ended up with a pixie cut.

  • Tabby Lynn

i think it looks great. I love the hair. I have natural curly hair so to say the least when am i not having a bad hair day even when it is strait it is still kicking my backside. it is strait today and it wants to curl. well got to go i am being abused by baby cousion who wants me to “come seeeeeee tabbbby!” so i will chat latter.

  • Courtney

I LOVE your hair!! I dont think that i have ever had any REALLY bad hair cuts, but living in Louisiana you can style your hairs for hours, walk outside and it will expand beyond repair from the humidity!

  • Allison

So one person dared me to color my hair! And I am not one to back down, the lady doing my hair didn’t ask what color I wanted. She colored my hair REd, Blonde, and a different color of brown then my normal color. It looked horible. So I waited two weeks. And then went to my normal hair lady and she colored a chestnut brown which is a little darker then normal. So therefore after a weeks it was back to normal.

  • http://www.waitingforreese.blogspot.com McKenna

Super cute cut! I’m glad I found your blog! :) Oh,I have a few horror hair stories. My most recent was actually about 4 years ago. I ended up with three haircuts in one and it was a bob/mullet/shag cut. I do not have any pictures, on purpose! Oh, now I’m depressed just thinking about that awful cut…..not one of my finest hours….. Glad I found your blog! Your music has really blessed me! :)

  • http://www.howyoulive.org Sarah the Nanny

Again…I absolutely LOVE your hair. It’s super hot.

I think my worst hair moment was when it all fell out. :)

SO glad I got to see you and the fam…the real family and the road family.

    HUGS!

  • ana

well, it wasn’t a bad cut, it was bad timing :)
i was in like first grade and i was in sunday school and i was going to be singing a solo that day in church and because of MY luck, gum got EVERYWHERE in my hair. so i couldn’t sing and my mom told everyone, in the microphone, that i couldn’t sing because i got gum in my hair. people made fun of me for like a week, i cried. haha, ps. you look beautiful in your picture!

  • Debbie

    Hi, Nat and all…

I have to go back to that whole Vaseline thing where my mom plastered my hair down b/c she wasn’t the best hair-doer in the world. I had to go to my dance lesson with Vaseline in my hair and nobody wanted to dance with me b/c they said my hair smelled bad. Scarred me for life!

BTW…we found out we are having a grandSON in February! My daughter-in-law already has a son, so we get a two-fer.

    Have a blessed week.

    Debbie

  • Amanda L

You could have any hair style…your face is gorgeous so you can pull off anything! Anyway, I colored my hair a few years ago a “light golden brown”. Needless to say, it ended up being black with blue highlights!! I cried and cried! lol– See you soon! We’ll be at the Casting Crowns Christmas Concert in Bossier City, La. Dec 1st!
    Take care!

  • Musician4Christ

I Love your hair do. I use to wear pop pomps in my hair but now I have a relaxer and I look so much better!

  • http://www.nataliegrant.com Jamie

Is that picture from when you were Dallas, Texas?

  • http://redcedar.wordpress.com annie

    You look adorable.

When I was a freshman in HS, I got my hair cut really short. Boy short. You know, Wilson Phillips was pretty popular at the time! Never will I try that again… Nobody liked it.

  • liann

i think it’s really cute!!! u were awesome at the Revolve Tour. i don’t really remember any bad hair days, but i hair does frizz up easily when i don’t hair dry it. ;p

  • Rachael

Beautiful. Natalie is hip now. ;) Different “do”, with the same beautiful God loving heart. Bad hair days are not fun. Girls know all about bad hair days dont we girls! Mine would be either when I tried to practice my haircutting skill when I was young, or when I have my plain out, bad hair days. I also have curly hair (rock on Cassie) and have my share of bad hair days. My hair tends to have a mind of its own, and doesn’t really want to work with me. So, I just go with the flow. ;)
    God bless you all.
    Love you Natalie!

  • http://www.rachelrowell.wordpress.com Rachel Rowell

I know you have no freakin’ clue who I am, but I just love you. You inspire me. I’ve had two people in the last week tell me I write on the same kinds of things as you. Thought that was cool.

  • ♥Cassie

can not wait for revolve this weekend i acctually get to go… lol it will be my 4th time getting to see u sing and 3rd time at revolve lol i cant wait lol minneapolis get ready for us =] haha its going to be amazing

  • Stacy

Every day is a bad hair day for me. Lol.

No really, I just don’t have the time. I tend to throw it up in a ponytail everyday.

When I happen to have the time to straighten it and wear it down (sometimes I’ll wear it down) it is a really big deal haha.

  • http://www.centerpointumc.com Jim Elliott

    Natalie,
Congratulations on your new hairdo. However you do your hair, it is great to have you, as a Christian artist, doing so well. A bigger congratulations on Gracie! What fun, if your experience is like mine you’ll be changed, at heart, more than they will. I just looked up your websites and wanted to comment in the latest blog spot. Thanks for talking to your fans and especially to me. In 2005 at Waterloo Iowa, I had brought my son and daughters to the winter jam concert in McElroy Auditorium and you were so kind to chat with us among your fans there. You could fit right in with our clan. So you have more family here, stop in anytime. We’ll be playing your music! Keep up the good work, God Bless, Jim and clan
(BTW: I am the webmaster for our church website that I put in this form. I am not sure what that line is for. I embedded a few of your videos there.) :-)

Super cute hair!! I really like it! I don’t really have any bad hair stories. But I did enjoy reading everyone elses comments. : ] Have an amazing day!

  • Jessica

    Beautiful!

  • Tarah Cage

I love your music!!!! You have encouraged me daily as a mom to my 2 year old blessing, Taylor Grace. Thank-you for shining for Jesus. You have helped change my life and I will not be moved! I love ya.

  • James

My bad hair day was several years back. Boy, was it bad. I was wanting a haircut and decided to cut my own hair. And I got so embarrassed that… well, let’s just say I don’t cut my own hair anymore.

  • Brooke

Hey nattie just wandering how those little girly twerlys are doing hop they are doing good!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Beth Douglas

My worst hair moment came when I was a missionary in Nigeria, West Africa. My husband had to cut my hair because there was no one else to cut straight hair. He kept trying to even it up until it was so short that when I washed it I had to put a towel on my head and tie it around my neck until my hair dried to keep it from sticking straight up. (This was way before punk) When my daughter was born 2 weeks later, my husband took pictures in the delivery room. When my mother in law saw the pictures, she said, “Wow, I can tell you had a hard labor. Even your hair was sticking straight up!” Little did she know that it had been sticking up for 2 weeks!!!!

  • Tiffany

Wow, cute hair. I have long, thick hair, but it is also fine, so haircuts are hard because I will finally find what I want and the hairdresser will say that it won’t work. :( …I once had my haircut like one of your photos from your “Deeper life” album and got oh-so-many comments on it! My worst hairstyle was when my mom traded a haircut for getting my iPod fixed and she said that she would pick the hairstyle, but it didn’t work out.

  • jessica

i love your new hair style and your music you have encouraged me alot my worst hair day would probably be when i tried to curl my hair by myself for the first time i ended up looking like i had a poodle on my head! you should come to virginia sometime

    love ya
    jessica

  • Bethany

Nice haircut, Natalie! I hate my hair…it’s a beautiful color (red) but it just won’t style…It’s really thick and wavy. Oh well…at least it’s a nice color! =)

My worst hair moment was when I was 10. You know how you have a couple of hairs near your forehead that arent’t bangs, and pretty short that just hang down? Anyways, I thought that I’d just cut them so that It’d look better. oops…It looked really good for about 2 weeks before it started to grow back. You wouldn’t believe how noticeable it was. It looked horrible when it was about an inch long — not like bangs at all!

I hope to see you at Revolve some time soon!!!

  • Cassie M.

bad haircuts… hmmm well… I can honestly say that I’ve had a lot of haircuts some were good some not so much. It makes me crack up like every single time I think about haircuts because I had bangs when I was younger and grew them out w/ the rest of my hair and my little sister wanted her hair to be just like mine sooo she cut the front of her like almost all the way up to her scalp because she thought that’s what I did. I couldn’t help but laugh how mean is that?

  • DeNeice in Indiana

I love the new cut! Mind if I print your pic, take to the salon, and ask if they can make my hair look like that? =)

My horrible hair moment was both a bad decision and bad timing. My hair is dark blond, fine, and straight. Hubby decided he would like me to go blonder. The bad decision was letting him pick the color… platinum blond. The bad timing… it was Saturday night. After the color, my hair was a shade of orange/yellow that Bozo would be proud of. I am not exaggerating! I had to go to Wal-Mart at midnight with a hat on to get a darker color. No way was I going to church looking like that! LOL

    2 Lessons Learned:

    1. NEVER let your husband pick your hair color!
    2. NEVER do something different to your hair on Saturday night with church a few short hours away. =)

  • http://aheartlikedavid.blogspot.com Kayla Goldsmith

    Natalie!!

    1. You haven’t posted in a while!

    2. I can’t wait to see you again this weekend! St. Louis is very excited!

    3. I will be in prayer that Revolve goes on without a hitch.. and we all impact and make a difference!

    See you this weekend!

  • Joshua

I think it looks pretty good

  • Katie

    Hi Natalie,
    Awesome hair!
I was at Revolve last weekend (in Anaheim) and I loved seeing you for the third year in a row! It’s been great! I wish I could really meet you, I love your music and your mesage.

I used to cut my hair above my shoulders (It looked terrible (or thats what I think now))

I have a question. I have grown up in the curch, I have been baptised, I read my bible and pray dayly, I go to church every week, help with events and go on mission trips but I feel like I don’t really know God. I feel like when I’m in nosebleed seats at a concert and I can never meet the artist because of the crowd and I’m up so high, like I’m just an other person in the crowd. please do you have any advise?

  • Carissa

    Hello Natilie
I love your hair. I think it makes you look
younger, fresher and beutiful. When I had
straight hair it frizzed up and curled.
    Love,
    Carissa
